UGC video examples for e-commerce: 10 ad blueprints by product category

VVuzz Editorial Team ·Published 30 Oct 2026 ·8 min read

Most lists of UGC video examples show you a finished clip and leave you guessing how it was built. This guide does the opposite. Below are ten examples for online stores, grouped by product category, and each one is written out: the opening line, the shots in order, the length and the one thing worth testing. You can hand any of them to a creator or to an AI tool and get a first cut the same day.

The examples are illustrations written for this guide, not copies of other brands' ads.

In short
  • ✓Pick the example from your product category, then adapt the hook to your buyer.
  • ✓Every blueprint has one idea, the product in hand early and a single call to action.
  • ✓All ten can be filmed by a creator or made with an AI avatar as a demonstration.

What makes a UGC video example worth copying?

Before you borrow a structure, check that it has these four traits:

  • A hook you can read. Many people scroll with the sound off, so the first line also appears as on-screen text.
  • The product in hand within a few seconds. The viewer should know what is being sold before they decide to keep watching.
  • One idea per video. One problem, one demo or one comparison. A second idea belongs in a second version.
  • A single next step. "Link below" or "Shop the green one", matching the page the ad opens.

If you are new to the format itself, start with our explainer on what UGC ads are, which covers the main formats. This page is the practical follow-up.

Beauty and skincare examples

1. The texture close-up

  • Shots: jar opening in macro, a fingertip scoop, the cream spread on the back of the hand, the hand turned under window light.
  • Voice: "This is what the cream looks like up close. Light, no shine after a minute. Link's below."
  • Why it works: it answers the texture question that photos on a product page cannot.
  • Test: a version with no voice at all, only captions and natural sound.

2. The reply to a comment

TikTok lets you answer a comment with a video, and the comment shows on screen as a sticker. It turns a real question into the hook.

  • Shots: the comment on screen, the presenter holding the serum, two drops on a cotton pad, the ingredient list shown on the bottle.
  • Voice: "Someone asked if this works on oily skin. It's water-based and fragrance-free, so here's how to use it: two drops, morning only."
  • Why it works: viewers who share the doubt stop scrolling, and the answer is factual.
  • Test: a different real question from your comments or customer emails each week.

Fashion and accessories examples

3. The fit check in two sizes

  • Shots: front view in size S, same pose in size M, a close-up of the shoulder seam on each, a turn to show the length.
  • Voice: "Same jacket, size S and size M. S sits close at the shoulders, M leaves room for a sweater. Size guide in the link."
  • Why it works: it helps the viewer pick a size, which makes the next click easier.
  • Test: a presenter with a different build, so more shoppers recognize themselves.

4. Three ways to wear it

  • Shots: three quick cuts, each with the scarf styled differently: neck, bag strap, hair tie. A final frame with the three colors.
  • Voice: "One scarf, three outfits. Neck, bag, hair. Pick your color below."
  • Why it works: one item, more value, no price talk.
  • Test: the order of the three looks; lead with the most unexpected one.

Home and kitchen examples

5. The POV moment

  • Shots: a hand opens a messy drawer, cut, the same drawer with the organizer, cut, the hand closes it slowly.
  • On-screen text: "POV: you open the drawer and everything has a place."
  • Why it works: the before and after is visible in ten seconds, with no claim to prove.
  • Test: another room in the house, with the same structure.

6. True or false

  • Shots: presenter in front of a tiled wall, the question on screen, the product sprayed on a grout line, a brush, a wipe.
  • Voice: "True or false: you need bleach to clean grout. False. This one is plant-based. Spray, wait five minutes, brush."
  • Why it works: a quiz format invites the viewer to answer in their head before the reveal.
  • Test: only if the claim is true for your product. Every statement in the reveal must be something you can back up.

Food and drink examples

7. The recipe in 20 seconds

  • Shots: two ingredients on the counter, poured into a jar, a shake, the jar in the fridge, a spoon in the result.
  • Voice: "Two ingredients, one jar, breakfast for tomorrow. Oats, our almond milk, a shake, done."
  • Why it works: it shows a use the buyer can copy tonight.
  • Test: a weekly recipe series with the same opening shot.

8. What's in the box

  • Shots: closed box, lid off, each item placed on the table with its name as text, a wide shot of everything.
  • Voice: "Here's everything in this month's box. Two coffees, a filter and a tasting card. New box on the first of the month."
  • Why it works: the viewer sees exactly what they would receive.
  • Test: a cut that starts on the wide shot, then goes item by item.

Tech and gadget examples

9. The setup in one take

  • Shots: a single continuous shot from unboxing to the device working, with a timer in the corner.
  • Voice: "From box to working in under a minute. Watch. Plug, pair, done."
  • Why it works: one unbroken take shows the setup is easy, because nothing was cut out.
  • Test: if setup takes longer, change the line, not the edit.

10. The size reference

  • Shots: the device next to a coin, then in a palm, then slipped into a jeans pocket.
  • Voice: "Everyone asks how small it is. Next to a coin. In a hand. In a pocket."
  • Why it works: dimensions in millimeters are hard to picture; everyday objects are not.
  • Test: a different reference object for each audience: a lipstick, a car key, a phone.

Which of these UGC examples can AI make?

All ten. Each blueprint is a demonstration: someone shows the product, explains what it does and points to the link. An AI UGC tool can produce that from your product photo, with an avatar presenter, a voice and subtitles, so you can launch a new version of any example whenever you have a fresh hook. Comparing tools? Start with the selection criteria in our AI UGC video generator guide.

The one rule to keep in mind: an avatar presents the product, it never claims to be a customer. The FTC tells creators not to talk about using something they never tried, in its guidance for influencers (read on 29 October 2026). That is why none of the scripts above says "I bought this". Testimonials stay with your real buyers, quoted with their permission.

Vuzz does / You check. Vuzz reads your product photo and your site, suggests which of these formats fits, writes the lines and produces the video with an avatar and a voice. Your part: compare the product on screen with what you ship, confirm each sentence is true, and open the link to make sure it lands on the right page.

How do you turn an example into your own ad?

Use this checklist each time you adapt one of the blueprints:

StepWhat to do
1. PickStart from your category, or from the buyer's main doubt (texture, size, setup, contents)
2. Rewrite the hookUse a question real customers ask you, in their words
3. Keep the lengthDo not add a feature list; a second idea becomes a second video
4. Check the factsEvery claim in the voice or the text is something you can prove
5. Make three hooksSame body, three opening lines, so the ad account can show you which one holds attention
6. Match the pageThe call to action names what the landing page shows

For writing the lines themselves, our 30-second UGC script guide breaks a script into blocks. And to see how Vuzz handles a whole catalog, from UGC videos to carousels and visuals, visit the e-commerce content page.

FAQ

Where can I find real UGC video examples from other brands?

Two official libraries are free to browse. The TikTok Creative Center has a Top Ads section for studying successful campaigns, and the Meta Ad Library lets you search the ads any page is running on Facebook and Instagram.

Can I copy another brand's UGC video?

Copy the structure, never the footage, the music or the exact script. A format belongs to nobody; a specific video belongs to whoever made it.

How long should a UGC video be?

As long as its single idea needs. The examples above run from 10 to 25 seconds.

Do I need a real person for UGC content?

No. A creator or an AI avatar can present any of these demonstrations. Only a testimonial needs a real buyer.

Which example should I start with?

The one that answers the question your customers ask most often, in reviews, support emails or ad comments.
